If “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey can be mashed into The Beatles’ “Octopus’s Garden”. And if “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac can be mashed into the same Beatles song. By using the simple plane geometry theory of substitution, “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Don’t Stop” should be compatible with each other. Nothing elaborate here, just good old math.
