“When the curtain falls, I think I’m paranoid,” he sighed aloud. Each word uttered slowly with the cadence of rust. If he, one Horatio “Bump Bump” Shabowitz, had actually listened to himself, he would realize he had said these precise words every morning for nearly four years. One would and could surely assume he was either a failed actor or a man on the verge of dementia, or worse, complacent, even though he has life-threatening sleep apnea.
