You either love or hate Michael McDonald. Rare is the in-betweener who says that Michael McDonald is just okay. The reason is his very unique vocal styling similar to eight owls hooting in unison or a train entering the far end of the tunnel. I appreciate the way the microphone gets lost in his beard.

There was a period in pop music when it seemed like Michael McDonald was singing background vocals on every single song, from “This Is It” with Kenny Loggins to “Ride Like The Wind” with Christopher Cross to “Steal Away” with Robbie Dupree to “Peg” with Steely Dan to “You Belong To Me” with Carly Simon to “Red Streamliner” with Little Feat.
